About Us
Nottingham Hunt Sabs are commited to sabotaging all forms of hunting and other attacks on our wildlife, including foxhunting, shooting, angling, badger culling, and more.
Nottingham Hunt Sabs are commited to sabotaging all forms of hunting and other attacks on our wildlife, including foxhunting, shooting, angling, badger culling, and more. Through out the hunting season we aim to be in the fields every Saturday with hunts in and around the Nottinghamshire area. With a growing understanding of hunting tactics, we aim to use to non-violent direct action to intervene whenever hunts chase any animal and ensure that they escape with their health and their lives. Sometimes this requires us to use tools such as whips, horns, citronella spray, and gizmos to lead and control the pack of hounds, but often our mere presence is enough to deter the hunt, forcing them to change their plans and abandon chases that could result in deaths otherwise, so our impact is immeasurable and there's plenty you can achieve even on your very first sab.
Nottingham Hunt Sabs have been actively involved in the sabotaging of the Gloucestershire and Somerset badger cull zones since before they started. Spending whole summers surveying the cull zones, finding the locations of badger setts in preparation has allowed us to develop a strong knowledge of the areas, and enables us to be much more effective during the culling periods. Again, this is an activity that needs little experience and can be a good opportunity for people to develop important skills such as map reading and navigation, and identifying badger setts, markings and trails. Through the active killing period, we have been patrolling the zone nightly, checking up on the setts and forcing marksmen to abandon their attempts to shoot. With the help of all the other people working in these zones, the culling companies have missed their targets by huge amounts over and over again.
